Information We Collect

• Account Data: Email address, display name, and user profile image (from Google or Microsoft sign-in).
• Service Metadata: Last usage date and minutes remaining.
• Payments: Processed by Stripe; we do not collect or store full payment card data.
• Analytics: Google Analytics may collect usage information (e.g., page views, approximate location, device/browser data) using cookies or similar technologies.
• Content Files: Uploaded media and resulting transcripts are processed only to deliver the Service and are deleted immediately after delivery (see “File & Transcript Handling”).

How We Collect Information

• You Provide It: When you sign in, upload media, or purchase minutes.
• Automatic Collection (Analytics only): Google Analytics may set cookies or use similar identifiers to measure usage. We do not otherwise collect cookies or automatic logs.

How We Use Information

• Provide, operate, and maintain the Service (including authentication and credit usage).
• Process payments and send purchase confirmations/receipts.
• Measure and improve basic Service performance via analytics.

We do not use your information for marketing emails.

File & Transcript Handling

• Uploaded media (MP4/MP3) and resulting transcripts are processed solely for transcription.
• We delete media and transcripts immediately after delivery via the web app and email.
• We do not store, review, or reuse your content for quality control or any other purpose.

Legal Bases (GDPR, if applicable)

• Performance of a contract: To provide the Service you request (authentication, transcription, credit usage).
• Legitimate interests: To maintain and secure the Service and understand basic usage.
• Consent: For Google Analytics cookies where required by law (e.g., in the EU/EEA).
• Legal obligations: To comply with applicable laws (e.g., payment/transaction records via Stripe).

Sharing of Information

• Stripe (Payments): To process credit purchases.
• Google Firebase Authentication: To authenticate via Google or Microsoft accounts.
• Google Analytics: To measure aggregated usage of the Service.

We do not sell or rent personal information and do not grant contractor/partner access for maintenance purposes.

Data Storage & Security

• Hosting: User account data is stored in Microsoft Azure.
• Retention: Account data (e.g., email) is retained until the account is deleted.
• Security: Data is encrypted in transit. We rely on provider-managed protections within Azure.

International Transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we implement appropriate safeguards (e.g., standard contractual clauses) for international transfers.

• Access, correction, deletion, and portability of your personal data.

We do not set our own cookies for session management or advertising. However, Google Analytics may set cookies or use similar technologies to measure usage (e.g., page views, device/browser data). We do not use analytics data for targeted advertising.

• Where required (e.g., EU/EEA), analytics cookies operate based on your consent, which you may withdraw at any time by disabling cookies.

Children’s Privacy

The Service is available to users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us at support@safescriber.com so we can delete it.

Data Deletion & Account Closure

You may request deletion of your account and associated personal information at any time by contactingsupport@safescriber.com. Uploaded media and transcripts are deleted immediately after delivery as described above.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are effective upon posting. Your continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
